Ankara is based in Victoria BC, founded by a designer and artist originally from Senegal, making and selling artsy African inspired apparel and fashion accessories right here in Victoria BC.
The word Ankara means African wax, also known as "Dutch wax” prints, a very colorful cotton cloths material with batik-inspired printing. Ankara prints are commonly worn in Africa, especially West Africa.
Most of my apparel is made from high grade, super-soft and breathable, African cotton, and cotton blends. I am pretty obsessed with making apparel, and fashion accessories that make the world a better place.
We make clothing and accessories with an exotic touch of African inspired fashion. Our products are designed with care and taste, with the goal to bring African style and fashion to you.
